Want to have a Twilight Party?
I wanted to share what we did for our “Twilight” DVD release party. We did this a week after the release. That way we had all of the different versions and we were able to take our time watching them. We had all day and night to watch all the great parts on all the different versions. Here are some of the things we did.
Decorations:
• Posters, posters and more posters. We hung posters all around. We also placed The Twilight Saga books, Twilight related books, and magazines with pictures and articles of the cast in them, all around.
• The book covers were a big inspiration. We had red apples, red ribbon, chess pieces and red and white tulips everywhere. The apples and ribbons were easy to find. For the chess pieces, the Dollar Store had full sets for $1 (we just used to Queen and pawns. The pawns were white so painted them with red finger nail polish). We could only find white tulips, at Micheal’s, so we just got red temper paint and stroked it lightly in different places on the tulips (I was looking at the book cover as I did it to get the right coloring).
• The cast should make an appearance. We had standees and/or dolls and place them in the VIP area.
Food:
• Italian is always good. Right Bella! Mushroom Raviolis anyone? For drinks I was able to find this great Red Vodka called Vampyre at BevMo. Coupled up with Rose’s Sour Apple Mix for the perfect Appletinis. Twilight sweetheart candies were placed in heart shaped bowls.
Favors:
• Twilight Candy! You can get big chocolate bars or they have the small size ones too, with Edward, Jacob and/or Bella on them. We got them at Walgreen’s and Wal-Mart.
Fun and Games:
• Of course we had to play the Twilight board game. Now you can get Scene It and the New Moon board game.
• Trivia is always fun. You can find a lot of great trivia on line.
• We also had our own award show with great categories like Best Line, Funniest Line, etc.
We had the best time. We would love to hear about what you did at your parties. Please leave a comment and tell us all about it. Check back in the next week or so to hear about our New Moon DVD Party.
