As Twi-K already mentioned, last night we went to our local Borders Release Party for the New Moon DVD. It was great!
Twi-K and I (and Wendy, one of our friends) wore black t-shirts with our Twilight Family blog information on it to this event. It was fun advertising for our blog!

Over 60 Twilight fans showed up, including lots of families with younger kids. It was a good-sized crowd--not too many, not too few. We filled out our New Moon Awards ballots right away and got tickets for the raffle later.
A TV was set up in the store above shelves displaying lots of Twilight Saga books. We watched New Moon trailers and interviews from the stars. Then our Borders host, Karinah Guzman, introduced herself and started the festivities.

By the way, throughout the evening, the Starbucks coffee shop inside the bookstore provided sample-sized drinks and snacks for us all. They were yummy! Thanks, Starbucks!
Karinah went through a script of Twilight-related activities with our enthusiastic crowd. We played New Moon character charades (like Bella, Jacob, Aro, Sam, Jane, etc.), had debates about New Moon (Are Bella and Jessica good role models? Is is safe to hang out with werewolves? Should Sam or Jacob be the leader of the wolf pack? etc.), and competed in a New Moon quotations contest. Prizes for these contests include New Moon magnets, buttons, key chains, book markers, pens, and more. I won a set of New Moon magnets and an Edward pen.

We also had a lively discussion about "signs that I'm obsessed with New Moon." We had lots of VERY obsessed fans there! This was definitely a great Release Party crowd.

The Release Party ended with a raffle, where most everyone (maybe everyone!) won something. The first award was a free New Moon DVD, and the rest of the items were more magnets, buttons, etc.

When it was finally midnight, we all lined up at the cash register to buy our New Moon DVD (which included a pendant inside). I bought a New Moon t-shirt, but I didn't get the DVD, because I already ordered mine from Target. (I'll post a review of the Target DVD version when I receive it later this week!)
Overall, it was a great Release Party. Thanks, everyone, who came out and shared this cool experience!
